June 30, 2023 7:17 PM |

Southwest Monsoon had a late arrival over the city of Mumbai. So much so that most part of the month did not see rain, moreover, the city could be seen struggling in the beginning. However, during the last week of June, it did make up for the shortfall despite Monsoon arrival being late.

With the month coming to an end, Mumbai recorded a total is 549.1 mm against the monthly average of 526.3 mm. The city saw three digit rains twice during the last week itself.

These rains were courtesy of the Low Pressure Area that had formed in Bay and moved inside, closer to the state of Maharashtra. In fact, the offshore trough also remained active.

For the next week, rains are expected to continue but the intensity will reduce. Moderate and intermittent showers will be seen.

The month of July is the rainiest month for Mumbai. The rains, however, will not be much at the beginning of the month, the first week may not have frequent and heavy spells. Conditions on the other hand will remain pleasant.
