Usually, pre monsoon rains over Gujarat remains very low. During this pre monsoon season, Gujarat region as well as Saurashtra and Kutch both are large rain deficient. Gujarat region is deficient by 99% whereas Saurashtra and Kutch is deficient by 97%. In other words, we can say weather remained almost dry over Gujarat throughout the pre monsoon season.
As for Rajasthan, East Rajasthan recorded few good spells of Pre monsoon showers. Therefore, it is in deficient rain category with 32% less rain. However, West Rajasthan remained dry with occasional light rain, and it is large rain deficient with the deficiency of 71%.
In fact, average rainfall for Gujarat between March 1 and May 25th is just 3.4 mm whereas it has recorded just 0.1 mm rain. The next one week also seems to be dry for Gujarat. Despite dry weather conditions we do not expect heat wave to make a comeback over the state since humid winds from Arabian Sea will continue over Gujarat for at least next one week.
Weather of Rajasthan will also remain dry. However, there may be isolated heat wave conditions over Western parts of the state. Dry winds from west and northwest will continue over Rajasthan leading to gradual increase in temperature. The east west trough will continue to oscillate over Punjab Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. It will not move south. Therefore, in the absence of moisture feed weather of Rajasthan how will remain dry.
