Many parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra have witnessed intense pre-monsoon rain and thundershowers associated with strong wind and hailstorm. Crops in many districts of Rajasthan and Gujarat suffered significant damage due to this pre monsoon rain. Intensity of rain was less over Saurashtra and Konkan.
Rain will reduce significantly from most parts of Gujarat, western parts of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra from March 19. Eastern parts of Rajasthan and North Madhya Pradesh may witness isolated rain and thundershower activities on March 19 as well. The weather will start clearing up over all these states from March 20. Day temperature which has witnessed a significant drop due to cloud cover and rain will rise again.
We do not expect heat wave to make a comeback anytime soon which we have witnessed during first half of march over Konkan. Temperatures of Rajasthan and Gujarat will climb to higher thirties soon. Farmers can resume there harvesting over these States from March 20.
Another Western disturbance will approach Western Himalayas while March 24 which may induced a cyclonic circulation over northwest Rajasthan. Therefore, there are chances of scattered rain over Northwest and North Rajasthan on March 24 and 25th. Intensity of rain will be less comparatively during that period.
