April 25, 2022 8:01 AM |

Scattered to isolated rain activities are going on over parts of Maharashtra since last few days. In fact, many districts of South Madhya Maharashtra such as Sangli, Satara and Kolhapur have received good rain during second week of April.

A trough is extending from Hyderabad to interior Karnataka across Marathwada. We expect light rain activities to continue over parts of South Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada during next four to five days. These rain activities will not be heavy but will continue in parts of these districts. These pre monsoon rains will be mostly during late afternoon or evening hours.

Temperatures are expected to remain nearly normal over all these areas. The weather of north Madhya Maharashtra and North Konkan and Goa will be almost dry and hot. Heat wave conditions are expected to make a comeback over North Madhya, Maharashtra and parts of Vidarbha after 48 hours.

Marathwada has recorded isolated light rain, but these rain activities are not enough to to improve the rain deficiency of the region. Madhya Maharashtra is deficient by 17%, However it is in normal rain category. On the other hand Marathwada is deficient by 89%, Vidarbha by 96%. But Konkan and Goa is large rain excess with 75% surplus.
