Pleasant weather in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, mercury to rise now

March 13, 2017 12:02 PM |

Weather in DelhiPre-Monsoon rains have now taken a break, paving way for clear weather conditions over Northwest India. According to Skymet Weather, pleasant weather conditions are now prevailing over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, and Uttar Pradesh.

Both maximum and minimum temperatures that were settling below normal will now also start increasing gradually. With this, days will be pleasant but nights will still be cool.

At present, both the day and night temperatures are significantly below average by 6 to 7 degrees. On Sunday, Delhi-NCR recorded day maximum at 23.6°C, that was six degrees below normal. Similarly, night temperature was 9°C that was seven degrees below normal.

This drop in temperatures were account of rain and thundershowers that had drenched the northern plains in last couple of days. In fact, Delhi has already surpassed its monthly average rainfall of 15.9 mm in first 12 days of the month only.

As per weathermen, after the passage of Western Disturbance, cold and dry northwesterly winds from snow-clad Himalayas have once again started blowing over the northern plains. This has led to cooler nights.

As we proceed ahead, temperatures will increase in the coming days and by the end of the week, days will become warm. Slowly and steady, night temperatures will also start increasing.
