Pune Rains make a comeback, more in the offing

Pune weather had remained almost dry for quite some time now. The month of July had begun on a rainy not, however, these showers remained light in intensity and the spread was also not much. Also, after July 7, weather of Pune remained almost dry with only very light rains being recorded in many parts.

However, Pune rains made a comeback in the last 24 hours and moderate showers were recorded over the city. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Pune witnessed a good 26 mm of rainfall.

Now, the off shore trough has once again become active along the West Coast and is now running from Maharashtra Coast up to the Kerala region.

A well-marked low-pressure area which is over Southwest Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, strong winds from Arabian Sea are reaching up to Madhya Maharashtra. Thus, rains have increased over Pune and adjoining districts.

As per weathermen at Skymet, light to moderate rains is likely to continue over Pune. For the next two to three days, these showers will continue. Thereafter, rains will take a slight break in between, however, patchy rains will continue. Weather is likely to remain pleasant and maximum temperatures will settle between 26 and 28 degrees.

Around July 20 and 21, rainfall intensity is expected to pick up pace once again resulting in moderate to heavy showers over the region during that time.
