Delhi Rains

Delhi weather has been hot as temperatures continue to settle above the 40-degree mark. Yesterday, maximum at the Palam observatory settled at 41.2 degrees Celsius, while Safdarjung saw maximums at 40.3 degrees.

However, Delhi may see some thunderstorm and light dust storm, along with gusty winds today, all Pre Monsoon features. In fact, parts of Punjab and Haryana may also see similar features. Moreover, from tomorrow, light rains will make an appearance along with these weather activities.

Today, thunderclouds are also expected to develop. However, as these activities today will be mostly in the evening hours and of very light intensity, temperatures will once again settle above the 40 degree mark. Tomorrow also, there are chances that the maximum may cross 40 degrees Celsius.

Due to some Pre Monsoon activity on May 22, temperatures may witness a drop day after tomorrow by a couple of degrees or so.

Pre Monsoon activities which will pick up pace tomorrow will continue until May 24, and will be accompanied with thunderstorm, dust storm, gusty winds as well as light rainfall activity during the late evening hours.

These weather activities will be attributed to the combination of the Western Disturbance and Cyclonic Circulation. The Circulation is currently over Central Pakistan and will shift towards West Rajasthan and adjoining Punjab region.

Once this Pre Monsoon spell is over, hot days will make a comeback again and temperatures will start to increase.
