Presently, a Trough is extending from Myanmar to North Bangladesh. Thus, moderate rains are likely over the states of Tripura, Manipur and Mizoram. Meanwhile the extreme South of Assam and Meghalaya may only receive light rain and thundershowers. However, rains are likely to intensify during the next 24 hours.

Mornings will remain misty and hazy over most places. Also, shallow fog can be experienced in isolated places over these areas. Temperatures during morning time will be low and cool day conditions are likely to prevail.

In the days to come, the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Upper Assam will experience mainly dry weather conditions with partly cloudy sky. In fact, Sikkim will also remain dry but cool.

Generally during the Northeast Monsoon season, these states receive good rains. But as the withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon was late this year and North-easterlies are yet to set in, these areas are receiving scanty rainfall and are still rain-deficient. In fact, rains during the Southwest Monsoon also remained deficient over all the states of Northeast India.

Arunachal Pradesh, one of the most visited state in Northeast, will also experience dry and pleasant weather conditions in the coming days. So, it’s the best time for tourists to make a move, up towards the northeastern states of India.
