Many parts of South India are expected to see some rains for the next four to five days, particularly, between October 8 and 11. Rains will be confined to parts of Tamil Nadu, as well as Kerala.
Thus, rain and thundershowers will be seen. The Cyclonic Circulation over Gulf of Mannar still persists but the wind field is very light. An additional trigger is high temperatures. Cities of Thanjavur, Madurai, Palayankottai, Ariyalur etc. are seeing maximum around 36 and 37 degrees.
Thus, the combination of proximity to water bodies, high temperatures and the system will result in rains over South India. Isolated places may see heavy rains. Heavy rain belt may extend to South Interior Karnataka as well thus rains may be seen in Bengaluru, Mysore and Mandya.
