Cold weather has been persistent in most parts of India. Year 2014 saw record breaking lowest maximums inAmritsar,PatialaandDelhiin the month of December. Likewise, temperatures in cities includingNagpurin Maharashtra, Pachmarhi in Madhya Pradesh andUnain Himachal Pradesh, after 46 years witnessed such low minimums. It is quite usual for temperatures to fall in states like Himachal Pradesh,but for Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh to observe such temperatures is rare.
On December 29, the minimum temperature inPachmarhi, MP fell to -1.6 °C. Similarly, on the 28th and 30th minimums in Nagpur and Una fell down to 5.0°C and -3.2°C respectively.
