Rewa, Ujjain, Satna, Gwalior continues to witness good Monsoon rains

Rains of varying intensity have been continuing over Madhya Pradesh but incessant rains have remained absent since last many days. As back to back low pressure area was seen over the state from the last 48 hours giving some light to moderate showers in some parts of southern and eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh. 

Since the span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Jabalpur recorded 122.6 mm of rainfall, followed by Bhopal 87.2 mm, Umaria at 65.2 mm, Khajuraho 49.2 mm, Ujjain 48.6 mm, Rewa 47 mm, Sagar 41.9 mm, Guna 11.2 mm, Indore 10.4 mm, Gwalior 5.8 mm, Seoni and Khandwa 5 mm, Betul 2.5 mm and Satna 2.3 mm.

According to Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is seen over North Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, moderate to heavy showers may continue to occur over the state of Madhya Pradesh for the next 24 to 48 hours. Hence, districts such as Satna, Rewa, Gwalior, Ujjain, Sidhi, Ratlam and Shivpuri are expected to witness light to moderate showers for the next two to three days.

In the coming days, the variation of rains between East and West Madhya Pradesh will remain very low, but the weather across the state will remain very pleasant for the next few days. These continuous spells will also contribute to the rainfall statistics of the state. As on July 20, East Madhya Pradesh is rain surplus by 2% and West Madhya Pradesh is marginally below normal by 1%.

These rains will also result in plummeting the mercury levels a few notches. However, 48 hours hence, rain activities is likely to reduce in some parts of the state.
