Third low pressure area in the month of November is about to develop over Bay of Bengal. First low-pressure area developed over Bay of Bengal and has given widespread rain activities over Tamil Nadu and South coastal Andhra Pradesh between October 30 and November 3rd. Second low pressure has given moderate to heavy rain over coastal areas of Tamil Nadu between November 11 and 14. Rain was heavy over south coast of Andhra Pradesh such as Tirupati Nellore and Kavali. In fact, some stations recorded three-digit rainfall over South Andhra Pradesh and coastal Tamil Nadu.
Cyclonic circulation over South Andaman Sea and adjoining areas will induce a low-pressure area on November 16. This weather system will move in West Northwest direction towards Tamil to coast and will intensify into a depression by November 18th over Central parts of South Bay of Bengal. Chances of further intensification into a cyclonic Storms seems to be bleak. Situation will get clear in next two days.
Squally winds are expected over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal on November 16 and 17th. Wind speed may be 45 to 55 Kmph and in gust may reach to 65 Kmph. Sea conditions may become rough over coastal Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka on November 19 and 20. Rain will commence over Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu coast from 19 and may intensify on November 20. Light to moderate rain is possible over Rayalaseema, South coastal Andhra Pradesh, interior Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
Another low pressure area may develop over south east bay of Bengal around November 25th. As of now it is difficult to predict its track and intensity. Skymet will keep a close watch on that upcoming weather system and will keep updating.
