November and December are considered as a dry period for Maharashtra and Gujarat. States usually receive rainfall in the wake of a low-pressure area or depression which forms over the northeast or East Central Arabian Sea. This time, we expect light to moderate rain to occur over many parts of Maharashtra and Gujarat between November 25th and 27. There may be a few heavy spells over north Madhya Maharashtra and parts of South Gujarat on November 27.
The reason for these rain activities can be attributed to the north-south trough extending from South Gujarat to East Central Arabian Sea as well as a deep trough extending from north Pakistan to northeast Arabian Sea across Rajasthan and Gujarat at 500 hPa.
Rain is expected to commence over parts of Maharashtra from night of November 25th. Rain activities will gradually increase and may cover parts of Gujarat as well by November 26th. There may be a few heavy spells over north Madhya Maharashtra, and parts of southeast Gujarat on November 27.
This will be a good spell covering many parts of Maharashtra Gujarat as well as Southwest Madhya Pradesh. Weather will start clearing up from November 28 onward.
