weather in Maharashtra

The state of Maharashtra has been witnessing dry weather conditions for the past many days. However, looks like, things are about to change as rainfall activities will once again make their presence felt in Maharashtra.

As per weather models, there are two weather systems, which will result in scattered rains over the region. Another set of unseasonal rains have already lashed the state.

Talking about the weather systems, a Trough is seen from Lakshadweep up to North Coastal Maharashtra. A Confluence Zone has also developed over North Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha.

Due to this, rains have been seen in the cities of Pune, Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Dahanu, Nagpur, Nashik, Akola, Malegaon and Amravati starting today until December 26.

Moreover, rains are expected to begin in Vidarbha and South Maharashtra today evening onward and these parts might witness isolated showers.

More cities of Hingoli, Latur, Need, Jalna and Beed may also witness isolated rains within the coming days. Scattered rains may make an appearance over Ahmednagar, Aurangabad and Mahabaleshwar. The possibility of hailstorm activities in a few parts also cannot be ruled out.

Due to rains, minimums will settle above normal for the coming days. However, once rains subside, northerly/northeasterly winds would once again result in drop in the night temperatures.
