Uttar Pradesh and Bihar lashed by heavy thundershower and hail, dry weather to follow

Bihar rainsIntense pre-monsoon activities are going on over many parts of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. During the last 72 hours, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have has been receiving heavy rains accompanied by strong winds and hailstorm activities. These intense Pre-Monsoon activities have resulted in crop damage as well as loss to property. East and Central Uttar Pradesh also witnessed moderate to heavy thundershowers. Rain intensity over western districts of Uttar Pradesh was comparatively less.

These activities were due to a trough, which was extending from Northern Plains to East Bihar across Uttar Pradesh. Easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal was also increasing merger over these states.

Now the trough has weekend therefore, there will be a significant decrease in Pre-Monsoon activities over Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. But due to this feed from the Bay of Bengal, Eastern districts of Bihar may continue with on and off rain and thundershowers. Similarly, western districts of Uttar Pradesh will also receive scattered rain and thundershower activities for the next 24 hours. Thereafter, the weather is expected to go dry for both the states until May 9.

The day temperatures will start increasing leading to hot weather conditions. This monsoon season can be considered as one of the rainiest for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar this is evident by the rain figures of both the states. As of May 5th, Bihar is surplus by 270%, East Uttar Pradesh up by 354%, and West Uttar Pradesh surplus by 295%.
