The Monsoon activities have revived over the western parts of Uttar Pradesh with Meerut, Aligarh, Agra, Bulandshahar, etc observing good rains since the last two days.

In fact, rains remained a continuous affair in West Uttar Pradesh on Saturday and light showers continued until Sunday afternoon.

On the contrary, the weather was almost dry in the central and eastern parts of the state.

At present, a Low-Pressure Area has formed over Jharkhand and adjoining West Bengal. This system is moving in west/northwest direction, as a result of which rains will increase in East Uttar Pradesh. And many parts of East and Central Uttar Pradesh will get to see good rains until August 21.

Varanasi, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Sultanpur, Amethi, Unnao and Bahraich will be the ones to get the touch of these showers.

Thereafter, the intensity will decrease but the weather will continue to remain partly cloudy to cloudy with occasional rains for the next two-three days.

By August 24 or 25, the rainfall activities will once again follow an increasing trend over West Uttar Pradesh. Monsoon will revive here by this time, although heavy rains will not be observed and only scattered showers will be seen.

Overall, we can say that the coming week will be good in terms of rainfall activities for East and Central districts of the state.
