West Bengal records heavy rain, rainfall to reduce now

The state of West Bengal has been one state which observed the highest efficiency in eastern India at 40 percent. However, good rainfall activity has been seen over many parts of West Bengal courtesy the deep depression which had formed in the Bay of Bengal. With this, the deficiency has now come down to 29 percent over Gangetic West Bengal.

During the last 24 hours, some heavy rains have been witnessed in Gangetic West Bengal with Midnapore recording 50 mm, Diamond Harbour 96 mm, Digha 77 mm, Asansol 66.6 mm, Bankura 68.9 mm, Purulia 44 mm, Burdwan 49 mm, and Kolkata's Alipore at 84 mm.

Sub Himalayan West Bengal also saw good rains wherein Kalimpong recorded 143 mm, and Darjeeling 45 mm.

Now the heaviest part is over as the system has moved towards Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. However, moderate showers may be seen over Gangetic West Bengal, reducing tomorrow and even further the day after tomorrow.
