Earth could change shape due to climate change

Earth could change shape due to climate changeGlobal warming and climate change have become two of the most important concerns, and nations are coming together to protect our beloved Mother Earth. However, a new study has revealed shocking possible outcomes. Global warming and melting glaciers across the globe could, unfortunately, alter the shape of Earth. In literal terms, climate change has the power to move mountains.

According to Michael Koppes, the assistant professor at the University of Colombia, the glaciers in Patagonia are melting and temperatures are on the rising spree. Patagonia is slightly warmer than Antarctica, and the glaciers here are warming up around 100 to 1000 times faster.

Due to the change in temperatures ice sheets are melting really quickly, and the chances of the erosion of glaciers have increased significantly. Global warming not only warms up the oceans, but it also results in bizarre weather conditions and the destruction of plants and animals.

If at all the temperatures in Antarctica soar to zero degrees, the glacial formations will become more erosive. These erosions will dig deep in the valleys, which will further lead to a deposit of sediments into the ocean. This will greatly affect the aquatic habitat. While the Polar Regions are already facing the heat of climate change, the Canadian Arctic will face the adverse effects of climate change.
