India’s Cotton output is seen at 35.1 million bales in the year started October 2016, up 4% from 33.8 million bales a year ago on better yields despite of lower acreages. The Acreage under Cotton has fallen to 10.5 million hectares in 2016/17 from 11.9 million hectares of 2015/16. This year Cotton yield recovery was better than the last year on good monsoon and minimum pest infestation.
