Louisiana witnessed not one or two but six tornadoes on Tuesday, February 7. Not only this, another tornado event was observed in the New Orleans region where the NASA facility was damaged.
Thunderstorms were also witnessed over the region. So much so that at least five NASA employees were injured in the incident. The damage is still being assessed by the officials.
The weather system, due to which these storms occurred were captured by a weather satellite which is jointly operated by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
GOES East weather satellite from NOAA had taken this image from the geostationary orbit of the satellite about 22,300 miles (35,800 kilometers) above the Earth.
This satellite is responsible for providing a constant view of the U.S. East Coast.
At least 31 people had suffered from sustaining injuries. However, no loss of life was reported in Louisiana
