Rains, Flood alert issued in South Australia

South Australia is expected to get hit by heavy storms following torrential rains and storms over next 48 hours. Flash flood warnings have also been issued for the state.

People staying in the Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of the North East Pastoral districts are cautioned against flood alerts. On the contrary, Renmark, Mount Gambier, Naracoorte, Lameroo, Bordertown and Keith are expected to be the most storm prone regions.

As per the Bureau of Meteorology, two strong storms are likely to knock the state in another 2 days. These storms are expected to bring in heavy downpour leading to flooding in most parts of the country. Further, heavy rains of approximately 50 mm are foreseen to lash parts of South Australia.

Chances of rains hitting hard during afternoon and evening are more. As per the weatherman, initially the first storm is likely to extend from northwest to the south-west during next 24 hours.

Thereafter, the second storm front is expected to reach around midnight on Thursday continuing until Friday. This could also possibly cause localized flooding. Furthermore, resulting in toppling trees, road blockages and even hail.
