climate changes affect students

Yes, climate change is a phenomenon that affects all spheres of human existence. As you may already know, climate change is the gradual change in weather patterns of a region or regions over a long period. Human activities depend on weather conditions and people perform the best when they are at their optimum levels.

Climate change in most regions causes people to experience prolonged extremes of long hot and cold seasons. Students inevitably suffer from these conditions and either has to modify their indoor air through heating or cooling to function normally.

The problem is most students in marginalized areas can't afford to modify their surroundings and may have to put up with very cold or hot temperatures which affect their academics in various ways. This article will be touching lightly on some of how climate change affects students, although you can even request many great writers online, and ask them to write my dissertation in the same subject.

So, let’s get started.

1. Extreme weather conditions affect a student's rate of retention.

For a student or typically any human being to function normally, there needs to be an optimum temperature. Climate change as mentioned earlier causes prolonged periods of cold and hot seasons. During these seasons, students get sick from overheating or cold-related illnesses.

For instance, in the tropics where there are prolonged hot seasons, students find it easier to study and retain knowledge in the morning and evenings as opposed to studying in the afternoon. Most students are more likely to suffer from fatigue and get sleepy when it's hot.

Unless all schools have air conditioning systems in place, students in less privileged schools are bound to suffer low retention as compared to their counterparts in high-end schools.

2. Climate change affects schools’ accessibility

Floods and droughts are very common phenomena currently. Most regions are already experiencing alternating floods and drought. During floods, students experience difficulties accessing schools or miss all the same to avoid drowning or simply because their institutions are submerged.

During draughts, in some regions, families experience a hard time trying to feed their families. Students experience difficulties without food or water in harsh weather conditions. For students to concentrate and perform well in their studies, they ought to have a healthy and balanced diet.

3. Pollution affects students’ health.

Climate change is a result of increased rates of carbon IV oxide, Sulphur, and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Increased level of pollution in outdoor and indoor air is harmful to students’ health.

For any student to perform at their best, they need to have clean air and a healthy body and mind. Sick students spend long periods at hospitals and end up losing much of their academics.

In conclusion,

For anyone to function properly, they need an optimum temperature to support their metabolisms. Additionally, for a brain to function properly, it needs to get replenished with the right nutrients which become limited during extreme weather conditions.

The human brain also requires optimum levels of oxygen and with increasing levels of air pollution, most students can't stay alert for long periods.
Climate change manifests as rising or dropping temperatures, increasing impurities in the atmosphere, and reduced food and water resources, all of which are necessary for academic excellence.
