"India is the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grandmother of tradition.” Mark Twain.

With an endless list of things to see, explore and experience, India becomes the top favorite travel destinations for thousands of travelers across the world. The most exciting part of your visit to the ‘Incredible India’ is the varied travel destinations and varied winter travel options in India one can easily find. Enjoy a vacation in India with the best of all the worlds, i.e. seeing the north, east, central, west and south India; provided you travel in India in the winter season.

Here’s all that you must see in India:

North India, Jammu and Kashmir- There are a number of picturesque hill stations in this country but there’s one place to which flights run full throughout the December month and that place is, Srinagar!! Where hills are full of snow and the boatmen on the Dal Lake get no time to snooze. By the third week of December, weather in Kashmir is so cold that people carry a kangri in the phiran (a long winter dress). So if you love the snow and the freezing temperatures, travel to the extreme north of India for your winter vacation. Winter games organized every two years in Kashmir will give you another reason to be here.

Northeast India, Meghalayas -Deemed as ‘unexplored India’ or ‘paradise unexplored’ northeast India is an ocean of unseen places. All the eight signature states of the north east India with its natural beauty, roaring rivers, high peak mountains, splendid orchids, waterfalls and lakes call travelers to uncover its unveiled magic .  Winter months are the best time to be here than the heavy monsoon months when this paradise becomes mostly inaccessible. The majestic, two centuries old, made to grow, double decker, ‘living root bridges’ in the forests of Khasi hills of Meghalaya are an unforgettable sight.

Central India, Madhya Pradesh-“Hindustan ka dil dekho”. Central India is home to some of most spectacular and diverse architecture and monuments in India, all steeped in rich history and has some of the most aesthetic architecture, splendid natural scenery, as well as renowned pilgrimage sights. Visit Raja Bhopa’s 11th century city of Bhopal and find the oldest stone structures, massive domes standing in eternal majesty till now. Winter is the most pleasant time to visit this historical city than the hot summers and heavy monsoon months.

West India, Goa-The Tropical weather of Goa comes to the rescue of all those who enjoy the summer months more than the biting cold winters. Goa, the city of beaches, Fenny and Sunburn is the favorite destination of Indian and foreign travelers all over the world during the winter and Christmas time when it earns more than 90% of its tourism revenue. Your trip to India is therefore incomplete without a visit to Goa.

South India, Kerala- End the trip to India on a sweet note by visiting the sweet water city or should we say the placid backwater lakes and lagoons city. Kerala is marked as the top 10 tourist destinations in the world by BBC. It’s a honeymooner’s paradise, speckled with fascinating hill stations, pouring waterfalls, exotic wildlife sanctuaries, spotless beaches, and wide range of flora and fauna. Missing out on this part of India, is a strict no no. While the rest of the India feels cold, weather in Kerala turns moderate, extremely pleasant and lush green due to the northeast monsoon rains from October to December.
