Rise in temperatures likely in Delhi; rain likely in J&K, northeast

Temperatures in Delhi will rise during the next two days. Thunder showers are expected in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the hills and adjoining plains of north Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana tomorrow evening onwards for the next two days. Rain will continue in northeast India and some parts of east India during the period. Rain is likely to continue in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in the next couple of days.

Temperatures in Delhi are likely to increase in the coming two days as winds would be blowing from the northwest instead of north. Temperatures in Delhi have turned below average during the last two days. A maximum temperature of 36.5 degrees was recorded in Delhi yesterday and it is 3 degrees below the average temperature of 39.5 degrees during the month of May. Night temperature was recorded at 20.3 degrees that is again down by 5 degrees from the average temperature of 25.9 degrees. Wind conditions in the capital were the reason behind such drop in temperatures.

A Western Disturbance will arrive in Jammu & Kashmir from tomorrow evening. It will affect the weather conditions in Jammu & Kashmir and some parts of north Rajasthan and adjoining areas of Punjab and Haryana. There are chances of rain at a few places in Jammu & Kashmir. Rain will be light and will occur at one or two places in the plains during the next two days.

Rain is likely at one or two places in Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal and Sikkim in the coming two days. The trough of low pressure now runs from Chhattisgarh to Tamil Nadu across Vidarbha and interior Andhra Pradesh. Due to this weather system, rain will also occur at one or two places in interior Andhra Pradesh.

In south India, a trough of low pressure runs from north Karnataka to Tamil Nadu. Due to this, rain will occur at a few places in Kerala and at one or two places in south interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu during the next two days.

The cyclonic circulation over Assam and neighborhood continues to persist. Rain will continue at many places in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next two days. Moist winds in these areas are coming in from the Bay of Bengal.
