Monsoon likely to cover entire Gujarat, MP during next two days

Monsoon is expected to reach remaining parts of Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim during the next two days. It will also cover some more parts of Madhya Pradesh and some parts of Bihar during the period.

As of 11th of June, the Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) is passing through Okha, Ahmedabad, Rajgarh, Satna, Ranchi, Behrampore, Jalpaiguri and Gangtok. These places are witnessing the leading edge of monsoon system at the moment. NLM is a line below which monsoon rainfall activities take place. The line will move northwards during the next two days.

Orissa, Chhattisgarh, northeast Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Marathwada will have monsoon showers during the period. One or two places in Orissa and Chhattisgarh could receive heavy showers.

The offshore season trough of low pressure along the West coast continues to persist from Kerala to Gujarat coast. Due to this trough, many places along the West coast will receive moderate to heavy rainfall during the next two days. Some places in Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka and south Gujarat could get heavy to very heavy downpour.
