- Pre-monsoon rain and thunderstorms are likely between March 18 and March 20.

Courtesy the last spell of rain on 14th & 15th March, weather conditions have changed over the national capital and suburbs. The temperatures have dropped from the mid and high 30s to the low 30s. The minimum temperature has dipped below normal, albeit marginally, for the first time this month. Weather conditions are likely to be on the better side in the second half of the month. The upcoming fortnight will be much cooler than the first half already gone through.
There is a Western Disturbance moving across the northern parts, largely over the mountains. Another disturbance is expected to approach tonight. There are bubbles of small-scale cyclonic circulations over Northwest Rajasthan, Southwest Uttar Pradesh, and the Haryana region. Connecting the two bubbles is an east-west trough passing south of Delhi. This will oscillate and run through Delhi on 19th & 20th March. The upper air trough in higher levels is placed more favourably for accentuating weather activity on 20th March.
Under the combined influence of these, the Delhi region will have an increased amount of pre-monsoon activity for an extended duration between 18th and 20th March, becoming more intense and widespread on the last day.
Rain and thunderstorms accompanied by sharp showers are likely. These could be sporadic on 18th March and more organized on 19th & 20th March. The scale and intensity will peak on 20th March. The weather activity will start exiting on 21st March, but the remnant of the system will still hang around and may cause isolated bursts within a 100 km radius of Delhi.
With these conditions, no sharp rise in temperature is likely in the next ten days. The day maximum will hover around 32°C. On rainy days, the mercury may dip below 30°C on 19th & 20th March 2026. Overall, the pleasant conditions normally observed in March will return. Delhi will witness on-and-off showers during the remaining days of March.
