Monsoon Conditions Stable in Mumbai

Mumbai is currently experiencing normal monsoon conditions, with no rainfall recorded since morning and generally calm weather prevailing across the city. According to Skymet’s latest assessment, light to moderate showers may occur later in the week, but no significant weather disruptions are expected. The Yellow Alert remains a precautionary measure, keeping in mind seasonal patterns and astronomical tide cycles.

High Tide Advisory: Citizens Urged to Stay Cautious

During this monsoon season, 19 regular high tide events are expected between June and September, as per tidal forecasts. These are part of the natural astronomical cycle and do not currently pose any abnormal threat.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a routine advisory asking citizens to stay away from beaches and low-lying coastal areas during high tide hours. The highest tide of this week is expected on June 26, with wave heights forecasted to reach slightly above 4.5 metres, which is within seasonal norms.

No Major Disruptions Expected

Contrary to earlier concerns, localized flooding or traffic disruption is not anticipated at this time. With the absence of intense rainfall and tides within expected limits, Mumbai’s monsoon is progressing steadily without major interference to daily life.

While overnight rains earlier this week did lead to temporary waterlogging in some areas, conditions have since improved. Skymet does not expect any significant deterioration in weather during the rest of the week.

Temperature and Sky Conditions

Skies will remain mostly overcast, with intermittent light showers possible during the week. Daytime temperatures are expected to hover between 27°C and 31°C, with a slight dip around June 27 and 28 to 29°C (max) and 23–24°C (min).
