Weather Forecast Aug 12: Heavy rains in flood struck Kerala and Southwest Uttar Pradesh

South India, due to persisting of an off-shore Trough, the flood struck Kerala will receive heavy rains and thundershowers at many places. While Coastal parts of Karnataka and Konkan and Goa might receive moderate spells of rain.The interior parts of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Maharashtra will experience light rainfall activities at scattered places. Due to decrease in rainfall activity over Madhya Maharashtra, flood situation is likely to improve here. While flood situation is likely to remain grim over Kerala and Karnataka. However, weather will remain dry yet humid over Chennai and Bengaluru.

East and Northeast India, here a Cyclonic Circulation lies over North Bay of Bengal. This system will be intensifying further hence Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Bihar will receive moderate rains and thundershowers at many places. While Odisha might experience heavy showers at scattered places. Northeast states will also experience light to moderate rains and thundershowers at many places. Central India, due to the presence of the same system, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh will experience moderate spells of rains and thundershowers at many places while heavy rains will be affecting isolated places over parts of Southeast and Northwest Madhya Pradesh.However, due to the lack of moisture, Southwest parts of Madhya Pradesh will remain dry and warm. Weather conditions over Gujarat are now set to improve. But due to the presence of moisture, light rains are still in bags at isolated places. Hence, flood conditions are likely to start improving. Mumbai will see light to moderate rains.

North India, the western end of axis of Monsoon Trough will now shift northwards. Due to presence of this system Uttar Pradesh will receive light to moderate rains and thundershowers at many places. While Southwest parts of Uttar Pradesh, such as that of Agra and Mathura might even receive heavy showers. Apart from this, a Western Disturbance lies over Northern parts of Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. Hence light to moderate rain and thundershowers will be affecting over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and eastern parts of Rajasthan. Warm and humid weather is being forecast for the capital city of Delhi with chances of rain at a few places.
