Presently, a Trough is extending from East Rajasthan to Marathwada across Madhya Pradesh. Therefore, we expect moderate rains with one or two heavy spells to continue over East and South-east Rajasthan, and parts of Gujarat region. Places like Bundi, Tonk, Bhilwara, Kota, Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan and Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Navsari, Valsad and Patan in Gujarat will be impacted by these rain activities.
The western parts of Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, North Madhya Maharashtra and adjoining Vidarbha will also witness similar weather conditions. For instance, Akola, Nashik, Jalgaon may witness good rains. Parts of Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra may also get one or two moderate spells. Moderate rains are expected in Mumbai and suburbs with one or two sharp spells of short duration in nature. While, East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will see less rain activities.
Up in the North, the axis of Monsoon Trough is extending from Northwest Rajasthan to Mizoram across South Haryana and South Uttar Pradesh. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over South-Central Uttar Pradesh. Hence, moderate rains with few light spells are possible over North Rajasthan, parts of Delhi, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh. The northern districts of Punjab, parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand might record moderate rains with one or two heavy spells.
Meanwhile, in the eastern side of our country, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Assam and the axis of Monsoon Trough is passing from South Bihar and Jharkhand. Therefore, rain activities are likely to increase over Jharkhand and South Bihar. Hence, Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Daltonganj, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Purnea, and Supaul are likely to see moderate rains. Scattered rains will continue over Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim with few moderate spells over Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh.
However, Monsoon will be subdued over Gangetic West Bengal and rest of northeastern states.
Down South, no major weather system is prevailing, therefore, rains will remain subdued over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and southern parts of Telangana. Bengaluru, and Chennai will be dry with light rains to be seen over Hyderabad.
Whereas, moderate spells are possible over North Telangana, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
