Weather Forecast for April 19: Relentless Heatwave conditions to continue in India

April 18, 2016 4:35 PM |

With heatwave conditions prevailing in most parts of the country, even Bangalore has lost its tile of the pleasant city. Temperatures have been setting new records in this place as well. Here’s a look at the weather conditions prevailing in the country.

The previous Western Disturbance is moving away and another feeble one is approaching the western Himalayas. It will start affecting weather by April 20 and bring light scattered rain over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

The cyclonic circulation persists over East Assam. It will continue to bring fairly widespread rain and thundershowers over Assam Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. Scattered rains are likely over rest of the Northeastern states.

A cyclonic circulation can be seen over Jharkhand with a trough extending up to Vidarbha.

Another trough is extending from Marathwada to South Tamil Nadu across interiors of Karnataka. Nevertheless, weather will remain dry over Central India as the moisture content is insufficient. In Peninsular India, few places of Kerala and interiors of Karnataka could receive rain and thundershowers.

Looking at the heatwave conditions, we do not see any good news coming our way. West Bengal, Odisha, Telangana, parts of Jharkhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha will continue to witness heatwave conditions. Tomorrow, the hottest cities of the country will include Titlagarh, Sundergarh, Jamshedpur, Chandrapur, Kurnool, Anantapur and Nizamabad. No relief likely in regions for next few days.

Delhi will witness slight relief from heatwave conditions for next 24 to 48 hours. But temperatures will remain around 40 degrees.
