Weather Forecast for Sep 15: Rain in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh

The Western Disturbance is seen over eastern parts of Jammu and Kashmir and the axis of Monsoon trough is running close to the foothills of the Himalayas. Thus, light to moderate rains with isolated heavy spells over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Scattered rains are likely over North Punjab, North Haryana and northern parts of West Uttar Pradesh.

Coming to Central India, Northeast Madhya Pradesh may receive light to moderate rains with isolated light showers over North Chhattisgarh and North Konkan and Goa. Weather over rest of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Gujarat will remain dry.

Moving to East and Northeast India, foothills of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and parts of North Odisha may receive light rains with one or two moderate spells. Moderate to heavy rains with one or two very heavy spells may occur over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Assam. Rest of Northeast India will see scattered rains only.

Coming to South India, a trough is extending from Rayalaseema to South Tamil Nadu. Therefore, few good spells of rains are likely over Interior Tamil Nadu while light showers are likely over Coastal Tamil Nadu including Chennai, Rayalaseema and parts of Andhra Pradesh.
