Weather Forecast for Sep 18: Moderate rain in Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad; Delhi to remain dry

The Western Disturbance is seen moving eastward. Moreover, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing through North Punjab, North Haryana, South Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal.

So, the weather will be dry over the hilly states as well as entire northwestern plains.

Moving to east and northeast regions, light rain is possible over East Uttar Pradesh, while scattered showers may occur over Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rains are likely over rest of northeastern states, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha. One or two places in these regions may also record heavy spells.

A cyclonic circulation is seen over Odisha. With this, moderate rain is possible over parts of South Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh.

Scattered showers are also expected over South Gujarat, while isolated spells will continue over Southeast Rajasthan.

Down South, an off shore trough is seen running along the West Coast. Therefore, South Konkan, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala Coast will witness light to moderate rains with isolated heavy to very heavy spells.

Light to moderate rains are also expected over Interior Maharashtra, Telangana, North Interior Karnataka, parts of Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and at one or two places over South Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Talking about major cities of India, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kolkata will witness moderate rains, whereas Bengaluru and Chennai would record light showers. Delhi will continue to remain warm and dry.
