Weather Forecast May 11: Dust storm and thundershowers in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, East MP

Beginning with North, a Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir with its induced Cyclonic Circulation over Central Pakistan and adjoining Northwest Rajasthan. Thus, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected at many places of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. While in plains, dust storm and thundershowers are expected at few places of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan and over one or two places of Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. There might be a marginal fall in day temperature over the Northwest Plains, bringing much relief from heat wave.

In Central India, humid winds from the Arabian Sea are blowing across South Rajasthan and Gujarat. Thus, temperatures might fall marginally over these areas. Isolated dust storm and rain is also a possibility over Southeast Rajasthan and adjoining parts of West Madhya Pradesh, whereas, isolated rains might be a sight over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha.
However, weather of Gujarat, Konkan and Goa as well as Madhya Maharashtra would be dry. Mumbai would witness dry, warm and humid weather conditions.

Heading to East India, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Assam and adjoining areas. A trough is extending from Jharkhand to Interior Karnataka across Odisha. Thus, light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells are expected over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya. While, scattered rains will be seen over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Isolated light rains might occur over parts of Jharkhand and interior Odisha. However, weather of East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Gangetic West Bengal would be dry.
Down South, this trough would give isolated rain and thundershowers over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, parts of Telangana and Rayalaseema. Whereas, scattered rains will be a sight over South Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru, Interior Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Weather of North Interior Karnataka and Coastal Tamil Nadu is expected to remain dry.
