Weather Forecast May 28: Heat wave in Northwest and Central India, Delhi and Mumbai to witness uneasy weather

Beginning with North India, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Central Pakistan with no significant weather activity to be witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Although, isolated light rain might occur over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during afternoon or evening hours without hampering the day to day life. Also, temperatures in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan are expected to rise gradually. With this, heat wave conditions might occur over parts of Haryana and Rajasthan.

Heading to Central India, dry and hot weather conditions would continue here. Heat wave conditions are expected at many places in Vidarbha, parts of East and South Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada and North Madhya Maharashtra. Temperatures in Gujarat and Chhattisgarh too would remain above normal. While, in Mumbai uneasy and sultry weather conditions will prevail.

Moving further towards East and Northeast India, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Odisha and its adjoining areas. A trough is seen extending from Jharkhand up to South Peninsula across a Circulation. Humid winds from the Bay of Bengal are also feeding moisture in Northeast India. Hence, light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells is expected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. While, scattered light to moderate rain will be a sight in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Scattered rains are also possible over Coastal Odisha. Whereas, the weather in East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal will be dry.

Finally, down South, a trough is extending across Telangana, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka and Kerala. With this, moderate rains with one or two heavy spells is possible in South Interior Karnataka. Scattered rains will continue over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. While, isolated rains might occur in Rayalaseema and Interior Tamil Nadu. The weather in Telangana will be dry and hot with heat wave conditions likely to persist in many parts. Good rains will be seen over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
