April 27, 2019 12:38 PM |

Dry and hot weather conditions are prevailing in Delhi-NCR for the last few days. The day temperature has been rising continuously and creating records. Yesterday, the Safdarjung Observatory (Base Observatory for records) saw the maximum settle at a sizzling 41.9°C, while in Palam the day temperature recorded was 42.2°C.

Since, no significant weather systems are approaching or passing close to Delhi, dry northwesterly winds will continue to prevail in the city for the next 48 to 72 hours. Since these winds are dry and warm in nature, the temperatures are bound to rise further. Moreover, the blowing hot winds correspond to ‘Loo’.

Due to the rising temperature and dust in suspension, the pollution levels will worsen as well. This might be recorded in ‘moderate’ to ‘poor’ category.
