Delhi Weather

Delhi weather has turned tables since the past few days. While the first half of February was on a slightly colder side, the second half has been full of surprises. In fact, the rising temperatures have made the residents that may be summer has knocked doors a little too early this time.

With about three days still left in February and Holi still standing in queue, temperatures in comparison with the last few years have been quite high. For the past four days at least, Delhi has been recording maximums above the 30-degree mark, breaking this season’s record each day.

Yesterday was no exception as well since the weather remained quite hot during the day. There were chances of rainfall making an appearance, but unfortunately rains skipped the national capital and some showers and hailstorm were recorded only in the adjoining areas of Punjab and Haryana.

Yesterday, the maximum in Palam observatory was recorded at a whopping 32.4 degrees Celsius which happens to be the highest of the season. In fact, if February records are to be seen, yesterday’s maximum was the highest of the decade as well.

Meanwhile, the minimum here was also quite high today, settling at 18.2 degrees Celsius. Both the maximum and minimum temperature were 7 notches above the normal levels.

As far as the Safdarjung observatory is concerned, the maximum here settled at 31.6 degrees Celsius while minimum was recorded at 17 degrees, both being six degrees Celsius above normal.

These weather conditions are attributed to the continuous dry weather and clear sky conditions over Delhi. As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, no relief in terms of reduction in temperatures is expected. Moreover, the residents are likely to observe a very warm Holi as well.
