Bangalore has lost its pleasant weather crown. The city that was bearable during the summer season has unfortunately become blazing hot now. Days have become hotter and nights have become surprisingly uncomfortable.
The silicon city had already broken its highest record in a decade just a few days ago. It seems like that wasn’t enough. Now, Bangalore has even surpassed its April 2016 record and sizzles at a whopping 38 degrees. If the situation persists, the city may surpass its record of 38.3 degrees which has been registered on April 30, 1931.
Light thunderstorms and thundershowers did affect the region for two consecutive nights. However, the mercury seemed unaffected. In fact, the maximums only moved a notch up. So much so that the city has been observing its maximum above the 36-degree mark for the past ten days.
While the monthly rainfall for Bangalore stands at 40 mm, the city has only recorded 5 mm. In fact, no significant weather activity has taken place in Bangalore since April 10.
During the next 2 to 3 days, light thunderstorm activity may affect Bangalore due to the trough which is currently running from Telangana up to South Tamil Nadu across Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Also, most of the times these clouds only result in light thunderstorm activity, sometimes, these events lead to light rain.
But, the temperatures will not be much affected by these weather activities. Bangalore will continue to broil at least throughout the month of April.
