Clear and dry weather on cards for North India

February 6, 2017 5:44 PM |

Weather in Rajasthan

A strong Western Disturbance over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir has affected the Western Himalayas. In wake of this system, the hilly states of North India particularly Jammu and Kashmir received heavy rain and snow with isolated very heavy in parts. Also, many parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand observed light to moderate rain and snowfall.

According to Skymet Weather, the Western Disturbance has moved away eastwards. Also, the wind direction has changed from warm and humid southerly to dry and cold northwesterly winds.

These cold winds have started blowing over most parts of northern plains, which is why the minimum temperatures have decreased significantly over West Haryana, Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Day temperatures have increased, while minimum, on the other hand, have dropped. We expect further drop in night temperatures by at least 2 to 3 degrees, and rise in maximums by 1 or 2 degrees over the region during the next 48 hours.

Moreover, the cloudy sky which was persisting since past two days has also become sunny. Now clear weather conditions can be observed over the northern plains.

Weathermen say that the region is likely to witness cold nights, with warm days and bright sunshine. The weather will remain dry.
