Cold wave conditions in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Marathwada for the last few days had made life miserable for the people of the region. Minimum temperatures were recording way below normal due to which nights had become extremely cold. But according to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the cold wave condition in the region is going to abate in next 48 hours.
Madhya Pradesh was the worst hit with Betul recording 4.3°C as the minimum temperature on Monday morning, which is 6 degrees below normal. A day earlier, the minimum had settled at 4°C, while on Tuesday morning the minimum rose marginally to record 4.5°C, though 6 degrees below normal.
Similarly, Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh itself recorded 4.6°C as the minimum on Monday, which is a whopping 7 degrees below normal. However, there was a marginal increase and the minimum temperature settled at 5°C on Tuesday morning.
These cold wave conditions had extended upto Vidarbha and Marathwada with Akola recording 9°C as the minimum temperature on Tuesday morning, which is 5 degrees below normal. In Naded the minimum had settled at 6°C, which is 7 degrees below normal, while Yeotmal recorded 8.4°C as the minimum, again 7 degrees below normal.
However, with the reversal of winds from dry and cold northwesterly to moist easterly/southeasterly, due to a circulation in Rajasthan and Haryana, cold wave conditions in the region will abate in next 48 hours. Minimum temperatures will rise and settle at its normal levels.
