Dehradun, Shimla, Nainital, Manali, Almora to see light to moderate rains

During the last 24 hours, vigorous Monsoon conditions were seen over entire North Hills of India. In fact, several places over these regions have managed to record three digit rainfall figures. On the other hand, other parts of the country have been reeling under normal to subdued Monsoon conditions.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Nahan recorded heaviest rainfall of 154 mm, followed by Haridwar 149 mm, Mukteshwar 110 mm, Tehri 69 mm, Dehradun 64 mm, Almora 58 mm, Manali 57 mm, Solan 51 mm, Shimla 47 mm, Srinagar 45 mm, Mussorrie 42 mm, Nainital 40 mm, Champawat 31 mm, Sundarnagar 30 mm, Kalpa 23 mm, Dharamshala 22 mm, Mandi 13 mm, Una 9 mm, Pantnagar 7 mm and Champa 5 mm.

These weather conditions can be attributed to the Western Disturbance which is seen over eastern parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Further, this weather system is likely to move east and northeastwards.

Due to the presence of this Western Disturbance, light to moderate rain and thundershower activities are expected to continue over eastern parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next 24 hours. Whereas light rains are likely to occur over eastern parts of Jammu and Kashmir region.

After 48 hours, the intensity of these moderate to very heavy rain is expected to reduce significantly over the entire western Himalayas. Therefore, remaining parts of western Himalayas will remain dry for the next few days.

Although, cloudy sky conditions are likely to prevail over these regions during the next 24 hours. Moreover, the day temperatures are expected to remain around 25 to 28 degree Celcius.

Hence, comfortable weather conditions are likely to persist over the entire western Himalayas. While the nights are expected to remain cool for the next few days.
