Delhiites woke up to another cool and dry morning this Sunday. The night temperatures witnessed a steady drop this week.
The minimums over Delhi and adjoining areas recorded below normal by a couple of notches on Sunday. Dry northwesterly winds are prevailing over most parts of the northern regions. These winds will continue to prevail over the area for the next couple of days. Therefore, further drop in temperatures are expected over Delhi and NCR.
Nevertheless, the minimum temperature did not fall in the last 24 hours and on Sunday morning the Safdarjung observatory recorded 17.5°C. This is below normal by 2 degree Celsius. On the other hand, the Palam observatory recorded 19.8°C as minimum.
No Western Disturbances are likely to develop in the near further. The atmosphere is likely to become drier with humidity levels coming down to even 30%.
In Haryana, the night temperatures will remain between 15 to 20 degree Celsius while in Punjab the minimums will be between 16 and 19 degree Celsius.
The day temperature at Safdarjung on Saturday was 33.8°C while Palam recorded a maximum of 34.4°C.
Skymet Weather does not expect much fall in maximums over Delhi and rest of Northwest India. Minimums will also continue to hover around 17 to 18 degree Celsius.
