Delhi records hottest day of the season, evening showers expected

The national capital Delhi recorded 35.1°C as the maximum temperature on Saturday, the highest of the season till now. According to the latest weather update, similar conditions on Sunday could send the mercury levels soaring beyond 36 degrees. Before this, Delhi had recorded the maximum temperature of 34.4°C on 17th March.

The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 20°C on Sunday which is also the highest till now. According to the latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, due to clouds minimum temperature will remain in the same range during the next two days.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, some of the areas in the national capital may witness post noon thunderstorm and rain today and tomorrow evening. This will certainly come as a relief from the heat and the temperatures settling in the mid-thirties during the day. A cyclonic circulation over Punjab will be affecting weather in Delhi during the period.

A period of rain in northwest India followed by resumption of northwesterly winds will again bring down the day temperature. The latest weather update indicates day temperatures will settle in the range of 32 to 34 °C from Monday onwards.
