Delhi records hottest day of the season

Delhi enjoys pleasant weather conditions for nearly five months from October to February. The day temperature in October remains in low thirties and November generally records in mid-twenties. December and January are the coldest months and these temperatures hover around 20 degrees or even less. The month of February goes on to record a temperature of 25 degrees or above frequently. Spring season ushers cozy temperatures in March but adds the flavor of warmth towards the end. Occasionally the temperature reaches 35 degrees or even more sometimes towards the fag end of March.

This season experienced extended winter and temperature in March remained comfortable. The highest temperature recorded was 33.3 degrees on 25th March 2020. Passage of frequent western disturbances had suppressed the day temperatures. However, the national capital breached the mark of 35 degrees on 06 April 2020 and went on to record a maximum of 35.8 degrees. Earlier the temperature of 35.1 degrees was recorded on 25 Sep 2019, nearly six months ago. Few parts of Delhi NCR recorded temperature in excess of 37 degrees including Palam.

An immediate relief is likely for Delhiites as rain and showers are likely to lash the city tonight. An active western disturbance is likely to accelerate the Pre-Monsoon thunderstorm activity in the region.  Weather conditions will improve tomorrow and will last for the next few days.
