Delhi post

Warm and dry days have gripped Delhi and NCR from almost a week now. In fact, if the whole month is taken into consideration, it has mainly remained parched for the national capital and its adjoining regions barring just a few occasional showers.

As Southwest Monsoon has already started its journey of withdrawal from West Rajasthan, rains are now not foreseen for Delhi and NCR and thus, Delhiites will have to continue to reel under the warm and sunny weather.

In the last 24 hours also, due to the absence of any rains, the maximums had settled above the 35-degree mark making the afternoons very warm and uncomfortable.

As per Skymet Weather, an anti-cyclonic circulation has formed over Rajasthan and Gujarat region. And in the wake of absence of any Western Disturbance, dry winds are prevailing over Delhi and other parts of west and northwest India.

Due to this, moisture incursion from the Arabian Sea and from the Bay of Bengal has reduced resulting in clear sky conditions. This is further leading to direct heating which in turn is resulting in very warm days.

However, on the other hand, the early morning and night hours are pleasant. These conditions are expected to continue to prevail in Delhi and the nearby Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad as the sun position will be shifting towards the southern hemisphere. Due to this, slowly the temperature will also start reducing over Delhi and NCR.
