Drizzle expected to continue in Delhi for next 4 to 5 days, no relief from sultry weather

Sultry Delhi

This morning Delhi woke up to patchy rains being observed in the vicinity of Palam airport. A few other areas also received some drizzle.

Its been a few days that Delhi NCR is observing similar weather with short spelled patchy rains.

However, these rains are unable to bring down the ongoing temperatures as weather is continuously unpleasant due to high humidity. The increased humidity might be traced back to the blowing easterly -southeasterly moist winds over the region.

Talking about the forecast, similar short spelled light rains are likely to continue over patches of Delhi NCR later today as well. Cloudy skies will prevail throughout the day. Moreover, these patchy rains might be witnessed for the next 4 to 5 days. The temperatures are likely to remain close to 35 to 36°C.

As a pattern, whenever, Monsoon withdrawal comes closer, Delhi starts to receive similar rains.

At present, a Cyclonic Circulation is present over North Rajasthan and adjoining Punjab. A Low Pressure Area is over Madhya Pradesh and neighboring region. The Axis of Monsoon Trough joining both the systems is passing close to Delhi.  As a result, Delhi NCR lies quite close to the periphery of weather activity.
