With a surplus of 65%, Rajasthan is the most rain surplus state in the country until now. However, the Union Territory of Ladakh is surplus by 238%. West Rajasthan has received large excess rain of 116% and East Rajasthan is excess by 35%.

The weather in West Rajasthan has gone dry for the last few days however, east Rajasthan has been receiving occasional light to moderate rain. The axis of the monsoon trough will remain over Indo Gangetic plains for the next many days therefore weather in Rajasthan will go almost dry for at least the next week.

The weather systems which are essential to give rainfall over Rajasthan such as cyclonic circulation over Central Pakistan or west Rajasthan, and humid winds from the Arabian Sea or from the Bay of Bengal are not expected anytime soon. Warm and humid weather conditions are expected to persist over many parts of the state. Most of the Rajasthan has already recorded heavy rainfall. Therefore, a prolonged dry spell will not be a problem for farmers.
