The election fever in Jammu and Kashmir is likely to defy the chill as the Valley gears up for the third phase of assembly elections tomorrow.
After the Valley saw a record turnout of over 70 per cent each in last two phases of elections, the state gears up, under tight security, for the third phase of assembly elections on 9th December even as cold weather keeps its grip tight over Jammu and Kashmir.
A cold morning followed by bright sunny day is expected to magnetize voters to the poll booths in big number.
The fate of 144 candidates including the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, is going to be decided from the polling at 1,781 polling stations across Budgam, Pulwama and Baramulla districts where voters are expected to throng morning onwards.
The comfortable weather would further add to the zeal of the people. The weather during the first phase polling was extremely cold but people turned out in large numbers to exercise their rights.
Similar turnout or perhaps larger number is expected to come out and vote during the third phase tomorrow due to the comparatively better weather conditions.
However, the early morning hours would still be very cold and voting is only expected to pick up as the day progresses.
