Prayagraj Schools Shut

In the last 24 hours, the eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh have received moderate to heavy rains along with a few very heavy spells. These rains were witnessed in cities like Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Prayagraj.  Varanasi has recorded very heavy rains to the tune of 107 mm, whereas Lucknow received 44 mm rains.

Flood like situation has triggered in many areas over East Uttar Pradesh. Already many areas in Varanasi are witnessing inundation due to these rains.

Now, we expect these rains to continue today as well. All educational institutes in the districts of Prayagraj: and Varanasi are likely to remain closed today in the wake of heavy rainfall warning in the area.

As per the official statement rolled out by authorities, till 9 pm yesterday, as many as 16 people lost their lives in the state due to rain, lightning, and floods.

Uttar Pradesh has been put on rain alert already. Disaster management teams are put on hold in case of any eventuality in the region.

As a relief, by tomorrow the rain activities might reduce significantly. After 24 hours a relief from ongoing heavy showers might sue in. Although some patchy activities will keep continuing.

As a matter of fact, Uttar Pradesh has failed to receive any significant Vigorous rains during this Monsoon season. As of now the cumulative seasonal rains have remained below normal over Uttar Pradesh. These rainy spells will certainly help in improving the rain statistics for the state.

On the other hand multiple locations situated in West Uttar Pradesh are already dry. Although patchy rains are going on over West Uttar Pradesh as well.
