Updated on July 29, 2015: While patchy rain in past few days have brought down the level of humidity in Delhi, good Monsoon rains in coming few days is likely to bring down temperatures by few notches.

While Monsoon rainfall deficit for the country continues to shrink owing to good rainfall across several parts of Central India including Rajasthan and Gujarat, patchy rain in next two days and heavy rain thereafter is likely to keep surplus rainfall in July intact for Delhi.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the capital city managed to score excess Monsoon rain for July by mid-month due to the active Monsoon trough and Western Disturbance. Persistent humid weather thereafter has been taken care of to an extent by the continuous patchy rain since past few days. Moderate rain is forecast for Delhi over the approaching weekend.

Watch: How to enjoy Monsoon in Delhi

The Monsoon trough is presently running south of Delhi that is resulting in cool easterly winds over Delhi. As the depression over south-west Rajasthan weakens after 48 hours and pushes the trough closer to Delhi, moderate to heavy rain is expected to lash parts of Delhi-NCR 31st July onwards.

As per Skymet, August in Delhi is expected to usher in rainy days and relief from hot weather.
