Good showers in Bangalore, a momentary blessing in disguise

Good showers in Bangalore, a momentary blessing in disguiseExtremely hot weather conditions had been wreaking havoc over the residents of Bangalore. The once pleasant city had lost its old charm as scorching summer heat continued to cause trouble in the silicon city of India.

So much so that Bangalore broke its record of 38.3 degree Celsius, which was registered some 85 years ago. Since then, the city had never observed such high temperatures. However, on April 24 Bangalore recorded a whopping 39.2 degrees.

The residents of Bangalore had had enough. They desperately needed the rain gods to have some pity on them and give some rain over the parched city. Fortunately, their prayers were answered. At around 3 pm, rain gods finally bestowed some kindness on the rain hungry residents.

At around 3:30 pm, good showers began to lash Bangalore. The activity continued till the evening hours. Thus, a pleasant evening was back with a bang in the capital city of Karnataka. The city recorded 21 mm of rain during this period.

The last time Bangalore received good showers were on March 16 when 16 mm rainfall was recorded. Thus after a good one month, moderate rainfall activity has been observed in Bangalore.

Not only did these rains result in a drop of minimums but the maximum temperature also witnessed a drop of more than two degrees. On April 25, the maximum dropped to 37.1 degree Celsius.

While you may think that the pleasant Bangalore is back in the game but unfortunately, the temperatures will witness a rise once again. Days will become hot again, and minimums will also witness a marginal rise.

Usually, Bangalore witnesses more intense Pre-Monsoon showers during the month of May. Thus remaining days of April will observe a rising trend in temperatures.
